We have a selection of activities available for groups to use during their visit and there is lots to explore in the local area.
Soft Archery (sucker arrows)
Soft archery is a self-led activity and a great introduction to learn the basics of archery.
3 soft archery sets are available to hire for the duration of your visit.
Each set includes:
- 1 large target & stand
- 3 sucker arrows
- 1 bow
- 1 arm bracer

Tomahawk range
The tomahawk range can only be used by groups which have a qualified instructor. It is free to use on your visit, if you have your own equipment. Alternatively you can hire our tomahawks and angels.
Tomahawk set includes:
- 9 wooden handle tomahawks (suitable for Guides and Scouts)
- 9 metal angels (suited to Brownies and Cubs)

Paxmead does not currently arrange tomahawk instructors for groups. Qualification is a day course which costs between £30-£45. We strongly recommend members of your unit, district or divisions qualifies in order to facilitate more girls to use this equipment.

Pizza Oven & Barbeque
Our newly installed pizza oven is available to hire, this includes enough kiln dried wood for a single pizza making session. The barbeque is free to use during your stay.
Includes instruction, tools and recipe.
Includes:
- 1 bag of kiln dried wood, fire lighter & kindling.
- Pizza paddle
- Log hook, ash rake, ash shovel

If you would like to use the oven more than once during your stay, additional logs can be purchased for £10 a bag.
